Consumer markets on the continent continue to shift in dramatic ways. Eighty20 provides access to widely used consumer surveys through our online data portal. We also undertake primary research, both qualitative and quantitative, to characterise and size market segments and to identify key trends.

Quirky thing: I love horses but they don’t seem to love me. Once in a blue moon, I go for a ride and inevitably end up falling off, or my horse spooks or something along those lines. Despite this, I keep going back.
What inspires you? I am constantly inspired and motivated by my friends and colleagues. We are a very curious bunch which drives me to learn and try new things whether it be work or personal related.

Favourite quote: “All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.” – T.E. Lawrence (aka Lawrence of Arabia)
What inspires you? My faith, my family and my work
Eighty20 is an exciting, innovative, and rapidly growing data science and research strategy business. We are currently looking for a data engineer to join one of our analytics project teams. The role will offer you the opportunity to design, develop and implement data pipeline solutions that assist the team of analysts and consultants to address client needs. The candidate should be highly numerate with a keen interest and proven ability in the areas of data management and interrogation.
Most of the data we deal with comes from client systems, not our own. It is therefore incredibly important that the team bringing this data into our environment, is not simply concerned with files, databases and encodings, but is also dedicated to understanding what the data is actually supposed to mean so that we ensure that the data we receive is correct and fit for purpose for downstream analysis.
